![]() I do agree with you though about media being precious, even thought it is just media, but it takes a long time to rip, sort and arrange and I too wouldn't want to lose it either, thats why I am using a NAS. I have 3 different models and they work brilliantly, no problems scanning through hundreds of movie/tv files, I currently have 4x 10TB discs of 4K movies and TV shows on a Synology NAS DS918+ and it handles them perfectly. But having owned tonnes of media players of the years, I would recommend a Zidoo 4k player. I dont have any issues with my APTV4K with high res cover arts, infuse loads them fine and very quickly as it updates the cache when when it scans for new media. BTW budget will be between £1000 - £2000. ![]() That said whatever route I choose needs to have the scope to expand without the need to start a fresh. If I was to opt for a HTPC with consumer grade parts and a standard RAID setup, would this cause problems if at a later point I wanted to move those discs into a ZFS Freenas setup?īecause I'm the only one needing access at this time, and all hardware (will currently) be just in one room, I am concerned that having a server and a client is a bit overkill. ![]()
